UConn Wins Season Opener, 6-1

STORRS, CT (Sept. 17, 2002) - The University of Connecticut men’s tennis team defeated Hartford, 6-1, Tues., Sept. 17, at the UConn Tennis Courts.
The Huskies were led by senior Joe Lang (Winchester, MA) who won at No. 2 singles and then teamed with Mike Furman (Allentown, PA) to win No. 1 doubles. UConn won the doubles point, with Lang/Furman’s win and the No. 3 doubles win. Connecticut then won five of the six singles matches to finish off the Hawks, 6-1.
The Huskies return to action on Fri., Sept. 20, at the Cornell Invitational.
