CHAMPAIGN, IL (Sept. 14) - The University of Connecticut (4-4) women’s volleyball team lost to No. 26 Illinois(5-2), 3-0 (30-21,30-22, 30-22), for the University of Illinois Classic championship.
The Huskies struggled hitting throughout the match, which never allowed them to get on a run. UConn did place two players on the all-tournament team, with seniors Sarah Walton (North Fork, CA) and Melissa Wooley (Ridgecrest, CA).
UConn returns to action Friday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 pm against Rhode Island at the Connecticut Invitational in Harry A.Gampel Pavilion.
