Captains Named for 2002-03 Season

STORRS, CT (June 24, 2002) - The University of Connecticut swimming and diving team has announced its captains for the upcoming season.
On the men's side, seniors Marshal Livingstone (Endwell, NY) and Craig Orski (West Sayville, NY) will remain captains for their final season, as they were captains this year, along with former senior David Carlson (Yorktown Heights, NY). Both qualified this season for the BIG EAST Championships. Livingstone qualified in five events while Orski also qualified in five. In addition, they were both members of the 800 free relay team that set the school record this past season at 6:43.41.
For the women, senior Kate Larson (Sayville, NY) and junior Kate Jelus (Beavercreek, OH) will take over. Larson has been the Huskies stand-out breaststroker since her freshman season and qualified in four events for the BIG EAST Championships this past season. During her sophomore season, Larson also was the Huskies first Olympic Trials qualifier. Jelus qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in two events. Both were members of the 800 free relay team that set the school record this past season at 7:31.16, and Larson also holds records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, the 200 individual medley and the 400 medley relay.
