Huskies Compete at adidas Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, NC (Mar. 30, 2002) – Competing in its second outdoor meet of the season, the University of Connecticut women’s track and field team recorded several impressive individual performances at the adidas Raleigh Relays at N.C. State University Mar. 29-30.
Headlining the Husky efforts was a first-place performance by sophomore Deirdre Mullen (Princeton, NJ). Following up on an indoor All-America season, Mullen notched a personal best in the high jump with 5’10 ¾” on Friday.
Junior Amy Parkosewich (Bethlehem, CT) also posted a strong performance at the adidas Raleigh Relays. Parkosewich finished sixth in both the discus throw with 154'6 and the hammer throw with a new career best of 170’8”.
Sophomore Sarah Casilli (Jamaica Plain, MA) rounded out the top individual Husky performances with a 10th-place finish in the 1500-meter run with 4:36.98.
The 4x100-relay team also performed well at the meet, placing seventh with a time of 46.69.
The Huskies return to action in their first home meet of the season this Friday, April 5th.
