UConn Falls to Miami in BIG EAST Play

CORAL GABLES, FL (Nov. 3) - The University of Connecticut women’s volleyball team lost to Miami, 3-0 (30-22, 30-18, 30-27) Sunday afternoon. The loss drops UConn to 11-13 overall and 6-3 in the BIG EAST, while Miami moves to 21-3 overall and 7-2 in the conference.
The Huskies were led by junior Julie Erbez (Stockton, CA) with 32 assists, seven kills and a .667 hitting percentage. Seniors Melissa Wooley (Ridgecrest, CA) and Sarah Walton (North Fork, CA) led the Huskies in kills with 12 and eight, respectively.
Miami was led by Marcela Gamarra with a kill-dig double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs.
Connecticut returns to action Fri., Nov. 8 when they play host to BIG EAST rival Seton Hall at 7:00 p.m. in Harry A. Gampel Pavilion.
