UConn Competes at ODU East Coast Championships

NORFOLK, VA (Oct. 21, 2002) - The University of Connecticut men’s tennis team competed on Fri.-Sun., Oct. 18-20, at the Old Dominion East Coast Championships in Norfolk, VA.
The Huskies were led by freshman Matt Stinson (Orinda, CA) who finished third on the championship side of flight C singles. UConn also received strong play from senior Mike Louis (New York, NY), junior Andy Sweatt (Reno, NV) and sophomore Brian Ravesloot (Tucson, AZ). Louis won the consolation side of flight C singles bracket, while Sweatt advanced to the consolation semifinals in flight B singles. Ravesloot finished fourth in the championship bracket of flight D singles and then teamed with Sweatt in flight C doubles for second place. The team of Louis and sophomore Alex Ningas (New London, CT) won the championship in flight D doubles.
Connecticut returns to action Fri.-Sun., Oct. 25-27, at the Regional Championships hosted by Princeton University.
