Tremblay Propels Women's Track To Sixth at ECAC Championship

Nichole Tremblay (Junior, Warwick, RI) set a new career best in the 1000m with a time of 2:52.45. It was at the ECAC Championship a season ago that Tremblay posted a then personal record of 2:53.96. Finishing behind Tremblay on Sunday was teammate Kimberly Grabarz (Sr., Brookfield, CT) who took second in a time of 2:53.66.
Nicole Toney (Fr., West Hartford, CT) also had a career best effort with a 42'1 1/2" measuring in the triple jump in order to finish second, while Wadudah Nurul-Islam (Jr., Providence, RI) finished fourth in the weight throw with a 59 '4 1/4".
The collegiate track and field season is scheduled to come to a close next weekend as the University of Arkansas hosts the 2001 NCAA Indoor National Championship March 9-10.
