BIG EAST Championship games to be televised

PROVIDENCE, RI (November 1) - The BIG EAST Conference announced today that the 2001 Women's and Men's Soccer Championship games will be televised on numerous regional cable networks. The games will be seen in several major markets, including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, upstate New York, Chicago, and Florida. This marks the fifth consecutive year the soccer championship games have been televised.
The women's championship game will be Sunday, November 11 at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ. The men's title game is slated for Sunday, November 18 at the University of Connecticut. Both games will begin at noon.
Following quarterfinal games on November 4 on campus sites, the BIG EAST Women's Soccer Championship will continue on Friday and Sunday, November 9 & 11 at the Rutgers Soccer Stadium. Following Friday's semifinal games, winners will meet on Sunday for the championship contest.
After a quarterfinal round on November 10 or 11 on campus sites, the men's championship will conclude on Friday and Sunday, November 16 & 18 at UConn's Morrone Stadium. The semifinal doubleheader will be held on Friday, while the championship game kicks off on Sunday.
