"Our win tonight was significant for our program," UConn head coach Kelli Myers said. "We've been working hard in practice to get better in every area, coming together mentally and executing our game plan. And I thought we did that tonight like we did against Fairfield (last Sunday). We are moving forward as a team and that is fun and exciting to see."
Senior Carol Munger led the Orangewomen with 10 kills. Freshman Laura Koster, twice a BIG EAST Rookie of the Week selection, added nine kills and senior setter Noreen Carroll had 29 assists.
Connecticut returns to action Sunday afternoon at Gampel Pavilion in a BIG EAST showdown with defending BIG EAST champion No. 22 Notre Dame. Match time is 2 p.m.
