Gbandi Named to Online National Team of the Week

Storrs, CT (October 16) – University of Connecticut men’s soccer player senior defender Chris Gbandi (Houston, TX) was named CollegeSoccerNews.com National Team of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2001.
Gbandi helped Connecticut to a 2-0 BIG EAST week. He anchored the defense that held No. 21 Boston College scoreless in a 1-0 shutout. In a 3-1 come-from-behind win at No. 23 Syracuse, Gbandi drew a foul and converted the penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1 in the beginning of the second half.
The Huskies take on Georgetown University on Saturday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
