Wooley Named BIG EAST Co-Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI (October 15, 2001) -- After leading the University of Connecticut volleyball team to victories over Pittsburgh and West Virginia this past weekend, junior outside hitter (Ridgecrest, CA) was selected as the BIG EAST Conference’s Co-Player of the Week. Wooley shares the honor with senior Kristy Kreher of Notre Dame.
Wooley displayed offensive dominance this weekend, nailing 6.57 kills per game and registering a .371 hitting percentage in the two victories. Against Pittsburgh, she recorded a career-high 28 kills in the 3-1 victory and added 18 kills in a 3-0 win over West Virginia Sunday. Wooley also averaged 2.14 digs per game and notched six blocks and four service aces.
Wooley is UConn’s second BIG EAST Player of the Week selection this season. Junior (Lancaster, CA) also earned the honor for the week of September 3.
