Men's Cross Country Competes at New England Championship

BOSTON, MA (October 12, 2001) -- Without the services of its top three runners, the Connecticut men’s cross country team placed 36th out of 42 teams with 915 points at the New England Championship Friday afternoon. Providence, who also captured the team title in the women’s meet, won the meet with 17 points behind five individual finishers in the top 10.
Junior (Randolph, NJ) provided the Huskies’ top performance of the day, finishing 112th with a time of 26:44. Freshman Pat Blake (Lebanon, CT) also finished in the top 150, placing 116th with a time of 26:49. Connecticut’s other point scorers were sophomore Alex Hudimatch (Watertown, CT), who finished 203rd, sophomore Brian Moles (Lewisburg, PA), who placed 245th, and junior Nuno Monteiro (Danbury, CT), who finished 253rd.
The Huskies return to action October 26 at the BIG EAST Championship, where they finished seventh last season.
