Jamal Lundy Earns All-ECAC Honors

STORRS, Conn. (Dec. 18, 2000) -- University of Connecticut sophomore free
safety Jamal Lundy (Burlington, NJ) has been named to the 2000 Eastern
College Athletic Conference Division I-A Football All-Star team, it was
announced by the ECAC on Friday. The 23-member squad was chosen
by Division I-A coaches from the following schools making up the ECAC
Division I-A contingent: Army, Boston College, Connecticut, Navy,
Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Lundy started all 11 games in the defensive secondary for the Huskies, leading the team with 102 tackles. Lundy also registered ten tackles for a loss and one interception. He also recorded double-digit tackle totals on four occasions in 2000, second on the team. Jamal has started 16 straight games at the safety position for the Huskies.
